About this project
Why I built my own Peloton dashboard
I’m addicted to data. After every workout I check how it stacks up against my trends. I love Power Zone classes too, but I’ve used every excuse in the book to skip the FTP test 🤮.
The problems
- Peloton’s spreadsheet export and built-in stats couldn’t keep up with my ever-growing list of questions.
- Keeping my own charts current meant downloading files by hand, over and over.
- Without FTP tests, I never really knew whether my Power Zones were set right.
The how
- Wrote a PRD with Claude. Requirements, metric definitions and a technical spike against Peloton’s API.
- Designed it with Claude Design. Three screens in light and dark mode.
- Built it with Claude Code. It updates with one click, pulls second-by-second data for specific classes, and estimates my FTP from recent Power Zone rides. It then checks that estimate against each class’s type and difficulty rating and how I rode in every prescribed zone.
This is a read-only snapshot from 5 November 2026, with workout times rounded to morning, afternoon or evening.
